I joined as the developer of a gateway that was already running, with real money flowing through it and no way to stop.

   The challenge

   The product existed and had customers using it, but it failed silently: the API answered as if everything had worked in cases where it hadn't. Fixing that with the system live is a different job from writing it from scratch.

   What I did

   I took over the PHP and MySQL codebase, mapped where errors were being swallowed and closed those paths. Then I launched the new landing page, which explains routing, fees and settlement without the customer having to open the docs.

   How I run it

   The client's server is kept separate from mine, with its own access routine so environments never mix. What's theirs stays with them.
